Anies Appreciates Collaboration of Various Parties in Revitalizing Kampung Kwitang

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Kampung Kwitang revitalization, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/31) morning.

God willing, this place can be a pilot project

This residential area which located on Jalan Kembang V, Kwitang, will be revitalized after caught fire on Saturday (3/13). This project is carried out to help the affected residents to get new houses.

He assessed, this activity was only ceremonial, but the great work has been started after the fire. According to him, the affected victims will receive assistance in stages related to 27 new housing units that will be revitalized.

"When it caught fire, we witnessed families who lost their homes, properties, but we know it was only goods, God willing, they can get a better replacement. It can be seen from better house design, settlement with more complete facilities, healthier, and much more convenient than before the disaster," he stated as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

He mentioned that fire accident can be used as reflection to be a better person, because there is always a wisdom behind calamities. Rapid response through collaboration between government and various parties created revitalization plan for that settlement.

"Both from Baznas Bazis, Jakarta Government (especially Central Jakarta Government) and private sector (Intiland). This collaboration should be developed in other places. Thus when we are experiencing difficulties, each of us must intervene," he explained.  

This collaboration involved parties who care about condition of community who affected by fire, which realized through donating resources they own. Because not only house that will be built, but also its design should be carefully prepared.

He also appreciated all parties who play roles from planning to implementation on the field. He hopes revitalization work for Kampung Kwitang can be completed as targeted.

"God willing, this place can be a pilot project for village whose activities are based on values that are believed to be properly maintained in this area. Keep in mind that development process must be based on schedule, on budgeting, and on quality which is targeted to finish before Eid al-Fitr. Those who work, I would like to thank you, hopefully it will be completed soon, God willing, everyone can feel the newness (new housing) while celebrating Eid in here," he said.

For information, groundbreaking ceremony for Kampung Kwitang revitalization was also attended by Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma; Central Jakarta Vice Mayor, Irwandi and his staffs; Jakarta Baznas Bazis Head, Ahmad Lutfi Fathullah; Habib Lutfi; Habib Ali Bin Abdurrahman Al-Habsyi; PT. Intiland Development Chairperson, Theresia; Representatives of Aetra Leadership, as well as other community leaders.
